Shoreline Spawning Kokanee in Kootenay Lake

Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society is raising awareness about kokanee that spawn along the shoreline and is working with the Province to initiate a “report a spawner program”. This program will help to increase our understanding of what areas of shoreline the kokanee are using for spawning, as well as increase knowledge among shoreline homeowners and visitors about what can be done to reduce disturbance to the spawning areas.“Report a Spawner Program”.
