On November 9th at the Balfour Community Hall we are hosting the first annual Kootenay Lake Summit. The Summit will bring together lakeside residents to inspire, educate, identify data gaps, and develop ideas for stewardship projects. There will be presentations, breakout sessions, a Kootenay Lake art showcase, free lunch, and music.
The Kootenay Lake Summit will highlight current research/environmental initiatives as well as identify main challenges for the lake and potential solutions to these problems. Themes will include climate change, lake fertilization, stewardship tools for shoreline homeowners, and tourism. The Summit will engage a wide age range and highlight ways people can get involved with the lake they love.
Event will run 9:00am-3:30pm and lunch will be provided.
