Join us for a spring clean-up at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park!
For this year’s clean-up, we will be taking advantage of the lower lake levels to make sure we clean as much beach as possible. Our target is the little and big pieces of styrofoam found in the sandy beaches around Kootenay Lake. You can read more about the impacts of styrofoam here. With your help we will be able to fill multiple buckets with this small but impactful plastic pollution.
In order to ensure that we are following provincial guidelines for outdoor gatherings we have limited each clean-up day to 8 volunteer spots. So register soon to hold your spot!
To maximize the health and safety of our staff and volunteers, please:
Where to park: Please note that Kokanee Creek Park is not open to the public yet. Therefore the gates leading to boat launch area will be closed. Volunteers will be given specific parking instructions via email upon registration.
What to bring:
Once you arrive at our booth you will need to sign-in and complete our COVID-19 Liability Waiver before commencing garbage removal activities.
BC Provincial Health Restrictions limit outdoor gatherings to 10 people, so please call in advance if you want to bring a plus one!
We are doing our best to ensure all guidelines are followed in order to continue doing this important work!
